We're voting against secret police in Canada. Will you join us?

Join the #StopC51 Week of Education now!

As Canadians learn more about what’s really included in Bill C-51, they realize this bill is reckless, dangerous, and ineffective. Join the over 110,000 people across the country who have already spoken out and demanded a stop to the government’s shredding of our Charter Rights through C-51.

We need your help, now more than ever.

... Take Action!

In the past few weeks, tens of thousands of Canadians have stood shoulder-to-shoulder to oppose the government’s “secret police” Bill C-51 at events across the country,1 while over 110,000 have spoken out online.2

Paov, we’re making a huge difference. Before Canadians learned about the dangers posed by Bill C-51, only 17% opposed it. But now the majority oppose this reckless, dangerous, and ineffective bill.3

But we need you to join us, now more than ever. You see, MPs are back in their home ridings this week, so we’re turning up the heat with a ‘#StopC51 Week of Education’ beginning today.4

Join the fight. Sign on to our action platform at StopC51.ca, and we’ll show you dozens of ways to fight back against the government’s reckless bill.

Why are people so upset about this "secret police" scheme? Put simply, this law is:

  • Reckless: It turns CSIS into a ‘secret police’ force with little oversight or accountability.5
  • Dangerous: It opens the door for violations of our Charter Rights6 including censorship of free expression online.7
  • Ineffective: It will lead to dragnet surveillance and information sharing on innocent Canadians that even Stephen Harper has admitted is ineffective.8,9

Now, the government knows that opposition is growing. In fact, they’re trying to trick Canadians into thinking they’ve fixed the flawed bill, when they’re really just ramming it through at record speed.

That’s why it’s time for us to educate our neighbours and MPs about the threats Bill C-51 poses. Join the Week of Education now by signing on at StopC51.ca.

As other countries make progress reining in secret spying, Canada is moving in the wrong direction. In fact, Edward Snowden recently called out CSIS for having the “weakest oversight frameworks out of any Western intelligence agency in the world.”10

The clock is ticking. It’s time for us to stand together and tell the government this bill isn’t right for Canada, before it’s too late.
