Thanks to you, the cruise ship industry’s dirty secret has been exposed! When we learned that some of the biggest cruise ship corporations in the world are dumping a billion gallons of raw sewage into our oceans each year -- you sprang into action.
Thousands of SumOfUs donors -- including you! -- chipped in so we could run a major international ad campaign targeting the biggest online travel booking companies in the world -- including TripAdvisor, Kayak, Expedia, and Orbitz. We knew that with summer vacation planning underway for many, this was a key time to cause a real splash.
Our catchy banner ads were seen over 3 million times in the biggest markets for cruise vacations -- and on some of the largest websites. The ads resulted in thousands of clicks to our website to learn more about the issue. Instead of booking a vacation, some people clicked our ads to learn more. This is huge.
You are the reason that more people know about the cruise industry’s dirty secret -- and that’s the first step in making sure companies like Carnival, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean can’t get away with it anymore. By challenging these companies where it hurts -- their bottom line -- we can force companies to clean up their act.
