A,
Using agency workers with no rights and no benefits. Intimidating employees who try to join a union. Not telling consumers if the Kindle contains conflict minerals. These are just a few of Amazon’s favourite things.
But this Wednesday, we've secured an opportunity to speak at Amazon’s annual shareholder meeting. This is a rare chance to force Amazon execs to listen to what we think of its practices. We're planning to use this opportunity to make as much noise as possible, so Amazon hears us loud and clear.
Can you add your voice and help us flood Amazon’s Facebook page?
Step 1: Leave a comment on Amazon's Facebook page (you can copy this one or leave one of your own):
"Amazon - treat workers like human beings. Stop busting unions! http://act.sumofus.org/go/9263?t=3&akid=11110.7636113.lxb2Ea"
Step 2:
Share this picture on Facebook right now to help spread the message!
Want to do more? You can also tweet at Amazon.
Amazon are hoping that it can keep us quiet, but it won't be able to if thousands of us take action now to flood their social media streams at the same time we're delivering our speech to Amazon execs.
Our actions are already making waves. Amazon is inching towards paying more tax, and hiring some permanent employees. We’re making progress but there's a lot more to do if Amazon is to really change its ways. We need to keep up the pressure on Amazon so it doesn’t return to business-as-usual.
Let’s make sure Amazon can’t ignore us,
Martin, Lisa, Kat, Nick, Carys, and the rest of us at SumOfUs.
