Friends,
Something is happening across Canada, right now.
Today, at 1 PM Eastern, university students in 6 Canadian cities confronted leading MP in their offices to demand that our elected officials take real leadership on climate change and champion a justice-based shift toward a clean, renewable economy.
Some of the people students visited include PM Stephen Harper, Thomas Mulcair and Justin Trudeau -- the people who say they want to lead Canada for the years to come.
Our movement is just getting started.
Tomorrow people across Canada, from Atlantic Canada to BC, will stand up to say that their communities are worth more than the tar sands. They'll take to the streets, on bike and on foot, and to the water, in canoes and kayaks, to demonstrate our shared resolve to move past this dirty industry to a just, clean energy economy.
Then on Sunday, the most diverse climate demonstration in Canadian history... will take over downtown Toronto. Labor, migrants, students, environmentalists, social justice organizations of all stripes will march together for Jobs, Justice and the Climate -- thousands on thousands strong.
Here’s how to follow all of the updates from the actions this weekend:

I was a part of the action with University of Toronto students, and the impact of dozens of us marching into Joe Oliver’s office was palatable. You can see photos, tweets and live updates from the actions today via the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition here.
We have a whole weekend of action ahead of us, and after that, a matter of months to move Canada forward ahead of the election this fall, and the UN climate talks in December.
I hope you will join me in action for justice and real climate solutions.
Forward,
Keara
