About Threats & Tribes News & Resources
The Ayoreo are being wiped out by violence from outsiders who steal their land and resources, and by diseases like tuberculosis to which they have no resistance. In 2012, Survival exposed the dirty dealings of a huge Spanish building company, which had destroyed the forest of uncontacted Ayoreo to make way for cattle.
We asked you to help and, thanks to your emails, the construction giant promised it would return the Indians’ land. But contacted Ayoreo leaders tell us nothing has happened.
It’s time for one last push – they listened once, let’s make them listen again.
Please email the company today and help us stop the annihilation of the last uncontacted Indians outside the Amazon. Dear Mr Jacinto Rey González,
I urge you to return land owned by your company Carlos Casado S.A. to its rightful owners, the Ayoreo Totobiegosode tribe of northern Paraguay.
Uncontacted Ayoreo are amongst the most vulnerable societies on the planet. Any contact between your company workers and the Ayoreo could be fatal, and the loss of the Ayoreo's ancestral land will destroy their lives forever.
I am sure that you do not want to be associated with activities that place the lives of some of the most vulnerable people on the planet in jeopardy. I urge you to withdraw from the area, and return the land to the Ayoreo.
Please act quickly to ensure that the Ayoreo’s lives can be saved.
Yours sincerely,
