Tell Congress, farm to school programs are a great idea all around. Dear Paov,
Today’s the day! Farm to School Month has been a smash hit so far, with folks across the country sharing their stories and making the case for how this program supports healthy farms and fresh, healthy foods for school kids across the country.
Now we have an opportunity to press national leaders to make farm to school bigger and better! Join today’s big Day of Action and help get the message to Congress.
Speak up! Tell Congress to support more farm to school programs across the country.
Fresh food in schools and strong local economies. That’s good news for everybody, and Congress can make it happen. Right now, legislators are working on a new version of the Child Nutrition Act, the large bill that funds the USDA Farm to School grants and many other important programs for kids. They were supposed to get it done by October 1, but they’ve fallen behind schedule.
Call or email your legislators and tell them that kids and farmers across the country are counting on them. Farm to school programs just make sense, providing school children with wholesome, tasty food grown in their communities — while supporting the local farming economy. It’s a win all around.
Make sure Congress knows these programs have strong support! Thanks for speaking up on this important issue.
