Pesticide companies are trying to throw out protections for bees in the TPP and TTIP deals. Will you donate to help fight for the bees?
Donate CA$90 nowA,
Bees are dying by the millions -- and now pesticide companies are pushing to use international trade deals to throw out the few protections for bees currently in place.
There's a huge amount at stake. The European Union has a moratorium on the use of bee-killing pesticides. Ontario, Canada has imposed sharp restrictions. The U.S. has stopped approving new bee-killing pesticides.
All that progress could be wiped out by the TPP and TTIP.
We can't let the bees get wiped out by secret deals cut by corporate lobbyists and trade ministers. Will you chip in CA$90 to help fight back?
Yes, I'll donate CA$90 to save bees from getting sold out in the TPP and TTIP trade deals.
According to sources, during the final negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), lobbyists for companies like Bayer and BASF began pushing to define protections for bees as barriers to trade to be struck down.
Not only that -- the same provisions would also stop countries from enacting new protections for bees.
Between these two huge international trade deals, a large amount of the world economy is covered. There's simply no way we can stop the massive global bee die-off if we allow the TPP and TTIP to be used to overturn protections for bees.
The good news is that if any one of the major partner countries affected by these deals pull out, we can stop the agreements. That's why SumOfUs members have launched grassroots campaigns in countries across the E.U., North America, and Australia to block any trade deal that puts corporations above people and the environment.
Will you chip in CA$90 to help stop the TPP and the TTIP from overturning protections for the bees?
Yes, I'll chip in CA$90 today.
Thanks for all that you do,
Jon and the rest of the SumOfUs team
