Are they freaking kidding?

SumOfUs r1 ...

A,

You were one of the over 200,000 SumOfUs members who took a stand to protect Canada’s east coast, and called on the Canada Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board to reject Shell’s application to drill off of the coast of Nova Scotia.

Together, we spoke out against the sheer recklessness of Shell’s plan. In the case of a spill, emergency equipment will take weeks to arrive, causing untold damage to coastal livelihoods and ecosystems.

We got together with some of our partners at Greenpeace Canada, the Clean Ocean Action Committee, and the Halifax Ecology Action Centre, and took our message straight to the CNSPOB.

More than 200,000 of us stood up to Shell's plans to drill off of Nova Scotia

As the most recent drilling permits go ahead, we will do everything we can to keep up the public pressure. You can betthe CNSOPB knows there is a large, vocal, and savvy opposition to these dangerous and short-sighted proposals.

In the next few months Shell, and the CNSOPB, want to open up more and more of the fragile coast to further drilling. And we’re not going to let them.

Hands off Nova Scotia

Now more than ever, our movement is determined to stop Shell’s plans to drill in the most precious ecosystems on earth.

Thank you for standing up to Shell,
Paul, Ledys, Rosa and the rest of us
