A,
My name is China Brotsky, and I'm responsible for managing the budget at SumOfUs.
I've just finished adding up all our expenses and income for 2015, and we're facing a year-end shortfall of $300,000.
Of course, there are good reasons for this. Between the Paris climate summit, working to save the bees, and fighting huge international trade deals like the TPP and TTIP, we've invested in some of our biggest campaign actions ever over the past few months.
But to close this year-end fundraising shortfall and make sure we're on solid financial ground for 2016, we need to raise at least $300,000 by January 1.
Will you chip in to help close the gap?

Now, I don't want to cause a panic. Even if we fall a bit short of that goal, it's not like we're going out of business or laying off a bunch of staff.
Because of the incredible support of our unbelievably generous donors, we're going to be fighting corporate power in 2016 and beyond no matter what.
But if we can't reach the goal of $300,000 by December 31, then one way or another, we'll have to cut back on something we'd otherwise plan to do in 2016.
And just look at some of the huge fights we're facing in the coming year:
- Stopping the secretive Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). These trade deals will be voted on for final ratification, and we're fighting to protect consumers and the environment from corporate abuses.
- Standing up to Monsanto. A group of courageous SumOfUs members have introduced a shareholder resolution demanding that Monsanto reform its corrupt corporate structure, and it will be a huge fight.
- Saving the bees. We've made huge progress in restricting the use of bee-killing pesticides, but we have a long way to go to ensure that the bees are safe.
That's an exciting list, and there will be even more fights that we don't know about yet.
With so much at stake, we can't afford to go into 2016 with a fundraising shortfall that could force us to cut back.
Will you make a year-end donation to help us reach our goal of $300,000 by December 31?
