Canada, its International Development Week.

r1 We need your help.
View in browser Hey PAOV,

It’s International Development Week across Canada and you can make a difference. Children need your help. Girls need your help. We need your help.

The world has just woken up to a crisis that has pushed 65 million children - over half of them girls - out of school because of conflicts and disasters.

Sign our petition calling for more funding for education in emergencies, and we'll use it to force leaders to step up at the World Humanitarian Summit in May. Girls like Kinana...

...a 9-year-old Syrian refugee who wants nothing more than to escape the bombs, and return to her books. She was devastated when her school bag was dropped in the chaos of fleeing her home. Although her father only completed primary school, he is passionate about his daughter’s education, and dreams of Kinana going to college one day.

Meeting in London last week, leaders pledged to rebuild Syria - but this is just scratching the surface. We urgently need to get our leaders to step up and invest at least $8 billion to get children in crisis around the world back into schools, with a chance for a brighter future.

Help build on the momentum from the commitments made yesterday for Syria. Join us in our call to world leaders to commit new funding for education in emergencies. These children have lost their homes, possessions, and their loved ones. Education is the best chance they have to rebuild their lives.

Thank you,
