We had our say. Over to you, Prime Minister.

Friends,
Yesterday, more than 800 people surrounded the Kinder Morgan terminal facility in Metro-Vancouver, from both the land and the water, as part of Break Free. Here's what the day looked like:
On the water, we staged a breathtaking kayak flotilla, swarming and surrounding the Kinder Morgan facility. Upon reaching the containment boom, dozens of us crossed over to the other side and occupied the tanker terminal for the pipeline. We left our mark by leaving behind ribbons adorned with our messages for justice.
On the land, a dazzling crowd marched our bold 'keep it on the ground' message to the gates of the Kinder Morgan facility, where we risked arrest by attaching locks -- carrying hand-written messages for justice... -- to the gates. Then, right on the doorsteps of the facility, we left our final mark by collectively painting a massive, gorgeous mural calling on Prime Minister Trudeau to commit to a 100% renewable energy future.
Together, we stood in solidarity with the T’Sleil Waututh Nation that has been leading the struggle against the Kinder Morgan project. We sent a bold and clear message to the government, right before the National Energy Board announces its recommendation for the Kinder Morgan pipeline next week.
You can see all of the pictures and updates from the action in Vancouver by clicking here.
The energy and scale of this action was unbelievable -- but the most inspiring thing of all was that we weren't alone. For the past 12 days, thousands of people on six continents have staged courageous actions directly confronting the power of the fossil fuel industry.
Over 2,000 people stopped blocked the world’s largest coal port in Australia. 3,000 people shut down one of Europe’s biggest carbon polluters in Germany. 10,000 marched against a coal plant in the Philippines -- and so much more.
People everywhere see the writing on the wall: as the planet heats up, renewable energy becomes more affordable, and the industry enters a financial crisis, the time has come to stand up to the power and pollution of the fossil fuels industry.
Next up in Canada: Sign up for the ‘People’s Climate Plan’ and commit to showing up at the upcoming federal government climate consultations to demand ambitious action.
Our global movement for climate justice is only getting stronger -- and bolder. We hope that you continue to stand with us as we speak up and stand up for a clean, just, 100% renewable energy future.
Onwards,
Atiya & the 350 team
