We've been breaking news about the Site C hydro dam in northeastern B.C. for a couple years. Today's video features Site C Joint Review Panel Chair Harry Swain explaining why the B.C. government has failed us with this expensive, destructive and unnecessary project. We also experience the heartbreaking realities of farmers and families being forced from their land to make way for the hydro megaproject.
This is a story about a place that is out of sight, out of mind. Few traditional news outlets have the resources to send reporters out into the field any more, but thanks to support from people like you we are able to cover stories like this one that have been overlooked.
