Today is World Refugee Day, a chance to focus attention on the countless men, women, and children risking their lives to flee violence and persecution back home.

Their goal? Safety, and a chance to contribute to the new societies in which they settle.

Refugee families deserve support, by both the letter of the law and the spirit of open society.
