Brussels, 29 June 2016 (ITUC OnLine): The ITUC has condemned yesterday's attack at Istanbul Airport, which has taken the lives of 36 people and injured at least 140 more.

ITUC General Secretary Sharan Burrow said: "The international trade union movement is deeply saddened by this latest terrorist atrocity and we express our deepest condolences to all those affected. The values that trade unions stand for - democracy, solidarity, fundamental rights and equality - are essential in defeating the causes of terrorism. We call on the Turkish government, and governments everywhere, to ensure the full application of the rule of law in bringing to justice those who are behind these and the other terrorist atrocities which are being perpetrated in so many countries."
