Who is the Israeli military’s justice system really protecting?

Though it’s supposed to provide accountability when Israeli soldiers harm Palestinians, the truth is, the military’s justice system mainly exists to protect the military itself. It deflects criticism, stalls investigations, and lends a veneer of false legitimacy to an illegal occupation.
