SumOfUs r1 ...

You and I could still be alive when the last orangutans are wiped from the planet -- all because their habitat is being destroyed non-stop to plant crops like palm oil.

PepsiCo uses 400,000 metric tons of palm oil a year, and we want them to adopt a responsible palm oil policy today.

Please, will you chip in so we can help save orangutans?

A,

I've got some sad news for you -- the Borneo orangutan is officially close to extinction.

Are you surprised, though? Their habitat is being destroyed at an alarming rate, all for the sake of profits from crops like palm oil.

You can help us force some of the biggest companies in the world to commit to responsible palm oil policies. We're simply running out of time before we lose orangutans forever, so we need to act now.

Can you chip in today to help convince PepsiCo to save the orangutan's habitat?

PepsiCo uses over 400,00 metric tonnes of palm oil -- so much that if you filled Pepsi cans with palm oil, there would be enough to wrap around the entire world four times over.

IndoFood -- its joint venture partner -- is one of the largest palm oil growers in the world, the biggest food company in Indonesia, and the sole maker of PepsiCo products in Indonesia.

We’ve got our eyes set on PepsiCo, IndoFood, as well as customers and financiers of dirty palm oil plantation companies.

We’ll be campaigning hard to hold these companies to account -- armed with strategic tactics that include brand-jamming on social media, on-the-ground organising outside annual shareholder meetings, and ad buys to amp up the pressure.

Already, together we’ve made huge corporations like McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Kellogg’s adopt sustainable palm oil policies following campaigns by the SumOfUs community. Thousands of you also generously donated to help people on the ground who lost their homes and their livelihoods because of the forest fires last year.

We can't wait any longer to take action on palm oil.

Please, can you make a donation of today?

Thanks for all that you do,

Kat and the team at SumOfUs
