Dear A,
Water issues are sure heating up across the country right now.
In Ontario, Nestlé is outbidding a town for its water. While in BC, the government is revisiting water pricing rules for bottling companies like Nestlé right now! This is thanks to 225,000 SumOfUs like you who called on the BC Government last year -- demanding that Nestlé be stopped from sucking the province dry at a rate of 2.25 per million litres.
But here's the problem with the BC government's proposed water rules: it's an approach that omits ALL other industrial users like fracking companies from the review. This means that fracking operations like the Northwest LNG terminal -- just approved by the Trudeau government -- will be able to use billions of litres of BC’s water for pennies with no oversight.
