Orangutans are being shot, starved, and burned into extinction by ruthless palm oil plantation expansion.
We’re demanding that PepsiCo stop fuelling the demand for irresponsibly sourced palm oil, which is killing the orangutans. Will you chip in now?

Dear A,
Thousands of orangutans in Borneo are killed every year -- shot, starved, and burned to death as their rainforest home is destroyed. Unless action is taken to protect them, they will likely be extinct in ten years.
It's all because of a ruthless effort by the palm oil industry to deforest as much of the island as possible to make room for their destructive palm oil plantations.
As their habitat burns, orangutans go hungry. Many starve, while others leave the forest in a desperate search for food and are then often shot by palm oil plantation workers.
The only way that orangutans will be saved is if big food corporations like PepsiCo stop buying palm oil from producers that are destroying the orangutans' habitat. Will you chip in to help turn up the pressure on PepsiCo before it's too late?

Already, almost half of Borneo's forests have been destroyed, as industrial palm oil has taken over the island. And this summer, the Bornean orangutan was designated as critically endangered--that means it's just short of complete extinction.
Animal rescue organizations are overwhelmed with orphaned, sick, and starving orangutans. A heartbreaking number of these animals are being found on the verge of starvation or with bullet wounds.
There's simply no way that all these animals can be saved unless big corporations stop fuelling the demand for conflict palm oil.
Last year, PepsiCo announced a commitment to use only sustainable palm oil--but it turns out the plan exempted Indonesia, where the environmental crisis from palm oil destruction is the worst.
It's clear that PepsiCo's feeling the pressure, or else the company wouldn't have announced a sustainable palm oil commitment at all.
But now we need to call PepsiCo out for the loopholes in its plan. Can you chip in?

If you donate today, your help will allow us to expand our work with hard-hitting tactics, such as creating social media content to build the movement, putting ads in newspapers or on billboards, and organizing on-the-ground protests in front of PepsiCo's corporate offices.
This is how we got corporations like Starbucks, McDonald’s, and Kellogg’s to cut off destructive palm oil producers. But as long as companies like PepsiCo are still buying palm oil from the plantations that are killing off these orangutans, the animals won’t be safe. Will you chip in to help save the orangutans before it's too late?
