Action Alert: Help us combat chicken cruelty!

Dear Supporter,

Imagine spending your entire life inside a dirty, noxious, windowless warehouse with nothing to do.

Imagine never knowing your family, instead spending every waking and sleeping moment—from the day you’re born—with a crowd of strangers.

Imagine eating the same boring food for every single meal of your life, living on a wire floor, and being unable to bathe or comfortably stretch your limbs.

This brutal existence is " target="_blank" style="mso-line-height-rule: exactly; -ms-text-size-adjust: 100%; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; color: #1791c2; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the reality for the tens of millions of chickens used for eggs in Canada. Right now, the code of practice that sets the standards for the egg industry is under review, and until August 29th your comments will be accepted on the new draft code.

These practices would continue to be allowed under the revised code, even though they're disturbing to anyone who cares about animals.

That's why your comments are critical—the egg industry needs to hear that animal cruelty in the name of profit is against Canadian values of compassion and justice for animals.

Our government has failed to regulate animal agriculture, which means these industry codes of practice are the closest thing we have to rules. This is your chance to influence policies that will impact countless animals over the coming decades.

Please see our blog post for more information about the draft code of practice, then leave some comments before August 29th.

Thank you for speaking up for farmed animals, who so desperately need our help. Together, we can ensure that our voices are heard.

Sincerely,

Anna Pippus
