Labour promises public ownership of U.K. water companies owned by Canadian pension funds
The Labour Party in the United Kingdom has promised to bring water services back under public ownership if they win the June 8 election.

B.C. Greens oppose Kinder Morgan & Site C, but remain open to deal with the Liberals
The day after the May 9 provincial election in British Columbia, the Council of Canadians posted this online action... alert calling on Green Party leader Andrew Weaver and NDP leader John Horgan to work together to stop Liberal premier Christy Clark's extreme energy agenda, notably the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain tar sands pipeline and the Site C hydro-electric dam on the Peace River.

14 chapters ask their MP to back mandatory labelling, but the House votes it down
Fourteen Council of Canadians chapters contacted their Member of Parliament and encouraged others to do the same today in advance of the 5:30 pm ET vote on Bill C-291, legislation supporting the mandatory labelling of genetically modified (GM) foods.
