Dear Paov, Over 20 million people in northeast Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen are currently at risk of starvation due to severe drought conditions or intensifying conflict.
On Monday, Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau announced that for every eligible donation made by individual Canadians to registered Canadian charities between March 17 and June 30, 2017, the Government of Canada will contribute an equivalent amount to the Famine Relief Fund.
At Global Citizen, we believe in creating change through the actions... of citizens around the world, without asking for donations. But if you do want to make a donation to help those at risk of starvation, now is the time to do it because your donation will have twice the impact.
There are many great organizations to choose from, including World Vision Canada, UNICEF Canada, CARE, and Save the Children Canada.
