Dear PAOV,
Canada has some of the worst animal protection laws in the Western world. Our laws are so outdated that one year ago today, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that most sexual abuse of animals is not a crime.
Canadians were appalled when the Supreme Court's judgment came out. Yet a year later, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government have failed to close this disturbing legal loophole.
It's an absolute disgrace that Canadian law lets abusers hurt animals for sexual gratification. The federal government has done worse than nothing—last year it blocked legislation that would have closed the bestiality loophole and updated Canada's animal cruelty laws.
PAOV, animal abuse is unacceptable. Politicians must start taking... this issue seriously!
Please take action today - ask the Prime Minister to immediately fix Canada's animal cruelty laws to protect animals from sexual abuse.
