Tell Idaho to step up for bees

Urge your governor to follow the science & protect pollinators

Dear PAOV,

Last year, Minnesota’s governor announced strong new rules to protect bees from harmful pesticides. Despite huge corporate pushback, these new state rules are moving forward, and they are some of the best pollinator-protecting policies in the nation. Help make it happen in your state, too!

With EPA leadership to protect pollinators stalled under the current administration, action at the state level is more important than ever. Urge your governor to step up!

Bees are incredibly important to our food system, pollinating one in three bites of food we eat in the U.S. Honey bees alone contribute more than $19 billion to the U.S. economy every year.

While there is no single reason bees are continuing to die off at alarming rates, scientists agree that pesticides — particularly neonicotinoids — are a key part of the problem.

Pesticide corporations like Syngenta and Bayer continue to lobby hard to keep their bee-harming products on the market. And leadership from EPA is less likely than ever, with the federal process to re-evaluate widespread use of neonics moving at a snail’s pace.

But states like Minnesota — and hopefully yours! — are stepping up to protect pollinators from harmful pesticides.

Your governor needs to hear from you! Urge your state to address the pesticide and pollinator problem head-on.

Bees are in serious trouble. As we gear up for Pollinator Protection Week, join us in speaking up on their behalf!
