Petitioning Justin Trudeau Make National Aboriginal Day a Statutory Holiday in Canada
Dear Prime Minister Trudeau:
In the true spirit of reconciliation, please make/declare National Aboriginal Day a statutory holiday in Canada.
By doing this, a major step in reconciliation between the Crown and Canada's First Peoples will be made before the eyes of all Canadians. In addition, a time and opportunity for the (further) authentic education of the diversity of Aboriginal cultures, contributions and issues will be made possible for all our nation's people, from coast to coast to coast.
Making June 21st an official statutory holiday will enhance pride, and promote a genuine sense of recognition, hope, and a more mainstream sense of belonging to the Canadian cultural landscape for our First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples.
Please sign and share this petition. Thank you!
