Trudeau is standing toe-to-toe with Trump on NAFTA -- and we have just a few days to make sure he listens to Canadians, not corporations.

Ottawa is accepting public comments on the NAFTA negotiations until July 18th. Tell Trudeau to say no to more corporate-rights deals!

With NAFTA renegotiations about to re-open, now is the time for Prime Minister Trudeau to show he can stand up to Donald Trump on NAFTA -- and Trudeau has asked to hear from us on what his team should prioritize.

As Canada and the US prepare to renegotiate NAFTA, the government is accepting public comments on the best way to approach the negotiations.

We only have a few days to make our voices heard. The trade deal could change the lives of ordinary Canadians for a generation --and we need to comment so that it doesn’t become just another handout to multinational corporations.

Trump has already promised "pleasant surprises" for his corporate cronies, and corporate lobbyists will be commenting in droves. Let's make sure our voices are louder than theirs.

Submit your comment now and tell PM Trudeau why he should negotiate NAFTA for Canadians, not corporations.

This will be our last, best chance to eliminate the shady investor courts that have cost Canadian taxpayers more than $200 million in payouts to corporations.

Right now, NAFTA (the North American Free Trade Agreement) makes Canadians pay for corporations’ “lost profits” -- including profits “lost” through stronger environmental regulations, worker protections or consumer rights. The unaccountable, closed-door courts that rule on these decisions have made Canada the most-sued developed country in the world.

We need to insist that Trudeau takes these Investor-State Dispute Settlements (ISDS) out of NAFTA -- so we don’t open up Canadians to arrogant, entitled litigation from pipeline companies like Kinder Morgan after we shut down Trans Mountain. We need to strengthen NAFTA’s labour and environmental standards and end pharmaceutical companies’ iron-fisted monopoly on the drug market.

Whatever is important to you, make sure Ottawa hears it. We won’t get another chance.

Please take a few minutes and send the Canadian government a message now: make sure NAFTA works for everyday people.

Thanks for all that you do,

Emma, Michael, Liz and the rest of the SumOfUs team
