Sumatran elephants teeter on the brink of extinction while brands like PepsiCo and Nestlé are still profiting from the destruction of their habitats.

Call on PepsiCo and Nestlé to clean their palm oil supply chain to save Indonesia’s Leuser Ecosystem from annihilation.

PepsiCo and Nestlé STILL buy conflict palm oil linked to the destruction of critical elephant habitat in Indonesia’s Leuser Ecosystem.

Our partners at RAN gathered disturbing new evidence that the greasy trail from palm oil suppliers such as Wilmar leads straight to some of the world’s biggest brands. And the worst part is -- all of these companies have “no deforestation” policies.

It’s consumer pressure from SumOfUs, RAN, and people like you that pushed companies like PepsiCo to adopt sustainable palm oil policies in the first place. Now, it’s time to make sure they live up to their promise -- before all that’s left of the precious Leuser Ecosystem is destroyed.

Call on PepsiCo and Nestlé to clean their supply chain before the Sumatran elephant dies in the Leuser.

The Leuser Ecosystem is one of the world’s top conservation priority areas. In other words, it’s a precious gem we can’t afford to destroy. After all, it’s the only place on earth where orangutans, elephants, tigers and rhinos all live in the same forest.

Now, with as few as 700 Sumatran elephants left in the wild, these companies need to hear from us before it’s too late.

Leuser is also the source of drinking water and livelihoods for millions of people in the Indonesian province of Aceh. This precious place is irreplaceable once it’s destroyed. Apparently, snack food giants are more concerned with profits than the life and death consequences of conflict palm oil.

We can’t look the other way while PepsiCo and Nestlé talk a big game on sustainability while driving the Sumatran elephant to extinction for the sake of profit. We’ve shown we have the power to pressure major brands to adopt no deforestation policies. Now, it’s time to make sure they live up to their word.

Demand PepsiCo and Nestlé live up to their no deforestation policies.

Thanks for all that you do,
Fatah, Mark and the team at SumOfUs
