Did you know that Sears Canada’s top executives are set to be paid up to $7.6 million in bonuses, while axed longtime employees won’t even see their severance pay?
Michelle’s mom, a dedicated Sears employee of 24 years, was one of thousands of former staff given the devastating news that their agreed upon severance payments would never come. So Michelle started a petition, calling on the company to put their workers first.
“At this point in my mother's life, the idea of her having to scramble to get employment, have stable income, and plan how to take on a second career, makes me sick to my stomach,” Michelle said.
