590 days in an Iranian prison

PAOV --

It has been over 590 days since Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was detained and separated from her husband and two-year-old daughter by Iranian authorities. More than 1 million people have signed a petition started by Nazanin’s husband Richard calling for her release. Will you join his call?

For almost two years, Richard has relentlessly been campaigning for his wife’s release after she was arrested in Iran in April 2016 on unknown charges and forced into solitary confinement at one of Iran’s most notorious prisons. Richard has spent every waking moment telling his wife’s story, and trying to build international pressure calling for her release.

Recently, there have been important developments that are drawing renewed attention to Nazanin’s story. The UK’s Foreign Secretary is facing increased pressure to help secure Nazanin’s release. Nazanin has now become the top news story in the UK, with politicians facing urgent questions about her case.

There is a real chance if people keep up this public pressure, the British and Iranian governments will find a way to bring her home. You can help do that by signing and sharing the petition.

International pressure was absolutely crucial in the campaign that freed Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian in January 2016 along with four other prisoners. The same can happen here for Nazanin if enough people sign Richard’s petition.

Richard plans to present his petition to Iranian authorities on November 25 and needs support now more than ever to finally reunite his family. You can help him by becoming one of more than one million people calling for Iran to #FreeNazanin.

Thank you for taking action,
