This is beyond outrageous. Right now, Trudeau is considering using your tax dollars to bail out Texas oil giant Kinder Morgan’s floundering pipeline and tanker scheme. [1]
Let that sink in. Dozens of First Nations still don’t have clean drinking water. We’re facing a housing crisis. Renewable energy projects are desperate for more funding. But Trudeau thinks there’s enough extra cash lying around to hand over as much as $2 billion to bail out a corporation from Texas? [2]
If that’s not enough to make your blood boil, your tax dollars would pay for a toxic tarsands pipeline that violates Indigenous rights, threatens the BC coast with oil spills, and jeopardizes our shared climate.
We need to show the Trudeau government that taxpayers won’t let them get away with using our hard-earned money to bail out a billionaire oil corporation. But secret talks with Kinder Morgan are starting this week, so there’s no time to waste. [3]

The pipeline is hanging by a thread. Last week Kinder Morgan announced that they would abandon the Trans Mountain project unless Trudeau could convince BC’s NDP government to accept the pipeline. [4]
Trudeau flew back from an international trip to meet with the premiers of Alberta and BC yesterday in a last-ditch attempt to convince BC Premier John Horgan to back down -- but thankfully Premier Horgan didn’t budge an inch. [5]
Getting desperate, Trudeau asked his Finance Minister to start secret meetings with Kinder Morgan to “establish a financial relationship that will eliminate investor risk” -- which sounds like code for a bailout. [6]
If we stop this bailout, it could spell the end for the Kinder Morgan pipeline, but it’s going to take a massive public outcry. And with secret meetings with Kinder Morgan planned this week, we don’t have much time.

For years, Leadnow members across the country have fought against plans to build new pipelines and pushed for strong climate action - and now we’re on the verge of stopping Kinder Morgan’s dangerous pipeline project once and for all.
