Dear PAOV,
I learned the ultimate cost of solitary confinement from Christopher Roy’s father, Rob.
When Christopher voluntarily turned himself in after breaching a parole condition, he was immediately placed into solitary confinement. Two months later, he died in his solitary cell because of the harm that solitary confinement inflicts.
Right now, Rob Roy, father of Christopher Roy is speaking with guests at the 2018 Liberty Awards Gala to try to raise $20,000 to defend the
BCCLA's landmark court ruling to end indefinite solitary confinement.
To help us get there, two generous donors came forward to match the first $10,000 raised in the next 24 hours! Any donation you make right
now, will have twice the impact.
Can you help us to raise $20,000 tonight? Click here to donate now and take advantage of matching funds.
We are determined to defend our court victory but we need your support to make it happen.
The Court found that prolonged and indefinite solitary confinement is unconstitutional and must end. But rather than accept the truth, the government has chosen to ignore it.
As our fight continues, we can expect to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars before it is over. We need your help to meet the staggering costs of this case.
Your donation can go twice as far. Please take this opportunity to make a tax receiptable contribution today.
Sincerely,
Caily Di Puma
