You spoiled the party

SumOfUs r1 ...

Dear A,

I wanted to send you a quick update on Amazon Prime Day. Donations from thousands of SumOfUs members meant that we could buy catchy banner ads that were seen over 1 million times on Google and Facebook during the Prime Day promotion period.

On Monday, Jeff Bezos and Amazon geared up for their biggest promotional party of the year. At the same time, transnational warehouse workers asked allies of conscience to opt-out, citing workers' rights abuses. For example, some Amazon workers in the UK had to pee in bottles so they wouldn't be slapped with "efficiency" penalties.

That's thousands of SumOfUs members around the world sprung into action, crowdsourcing to flood Google and Facebook with anti-Amazon ads during the sales:

Check out the ad!

The ads resulted in thousands of clicks to our page to learn more about the issue. Instead of crossing the international picket line, some people clicked our ads to learn more about the workers' rights abuses. That's huge.

Your ads were seen millions of times!

Time and time again, SumOfUs members like you have proven that even the most powerful and wealthy corporations can be seriously challenged. And Amazon is no exception, even though CEO Jeff Bezos has become the richest man in the world with a net worth valued at a whopping $90 billion dollars.

Already over 624,000 SumOfUs members like you have demanded that Amazon and Whole Foods stop investing in hate site, Breitbart News. The fight is far from over, but we wanted to take a moment to appreciate what our SumOfUs community achieved in less than 36 hours to disrupt Prime Day.

Thank your everything that you do,

Reem and the team at SumOfUs

P.S. It's only because of amazing SumOfUs members like you that our action to challenge Amazon was possible. To keep taking on big corporations propping up far-right politics and exploiting workers we need your ongoing support. Please can you chip in a few coins each month so we can keep it up?

SumOfUs is a worldwide movement of people like you, working together to hold corporations accountable for their actions and forge a new, sustainable path for our global economy.
