If you can't stand the fire or the floods,
fight back with SCNCC
SEPTEMBER 18, 2018
Dear member of the SCNCC community,As fall approaches and the fires in the West are still raging, along comes Hurricane Florence to remind us that the climate in which human civilization developed is rapidly changing. Our sympathy goes to all the people afflicted by Florence and mounting climate disasters around the world. It is becoming clearer that even those of us in the most developed countries will not escape the consequences of capitalism's crazed commitment to burn fossil fuels no matter what the cost to future generations of life on Earth. According to the New Yorker Magazine, the rich are betting on converted missile solos to shield them from the worst.
Want to bet on the humans instead? SCNCC exists because we believe the only antidote to despair is to fight back. It's time to nationalize, socialize, and phase out the fossil fuel industry.
We invite you to visit our website at systemchangenotclimatechange.org (recently tweaked for better viewing on mobile devices), join one of the discussions or start your own on our discussion forum at scncc.net, or follow us on FaceBook or Twitter if such is your wont.
