There has not been a lot of coverage in the Canadian media of the French strikes against ‘reforms’ to that country’s labour laws or of the strikes against the sell-off of big chunks of the French public sector. Regular one and two day strikes have been going on for months now. The coverage here has been pitiful.
But that’s OK, that’s what LabourStart is for. To read hundreds of stories about the strikes and about why millions of workers are prepared to participate visit our French union news page (in English) HERE.
What LabourStart is also about is helping muster solidarity when it is asked for. And the French unions, though the International Transport Workers Federation, are most definitely asking.
So please, see if you can find 20 seconds in your busy day to go HERE and send a solidarity message.
Thank you!
In Solidarity,
Derek Blackadder
