In February thousands of neo-Nazis are scheduled to march on the streets of one of Europe’s capitals. Their march will honor a military leader who supported the Nazis and the deportation of 11,000 Jews to a concentration camp where they perished.

As the World Jewish Congress, we’re calling on people around the globe to condemn this march and prevent it from happening. If you agree, you can sign our petition here.

Jewish leaders and human rights activists around the globe have campaigned to end this gathering for 14 years, especially with the recent rise of neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic violence. Last year the march was banned by local authorities, but was eventually allowed to happen. This year activists are hoping to stop the march once and for all.

Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry has denounced the neo-Nazi march — known as the “Lukov March” — but there is still no effective ban. International support for the Bulgarian Jewish community is needed now in their fight against growing intolerance.

During the first half of 2018, Bulgaria will hold the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. This is a chance for Bulgaria to demonstrate leadership and the shared global values of tolerance and the rejection of extremism and anti-Semitism.

Your support will show that there is no room on the streets of Europe for a march that worships General Hristo Lukov, a man who contributed to the persecution of thousands of Jews.

Thank you for taking action,
World Jewish Congress
