Our print media report sets off the alarm - help us ramp up now!

Fund a social media ad campaign for proportional representation!

Dear FVC Supporter,

A few days ago, we released the results of a three month study of the electoral reform opinion columns in BC's mainstream print media. With just a few days until ballots go out, the results should set off the alarm bells for all of us working for a fairer electoral system in BC.

Overall, 66% of the opinion columns were negative. Even worse, the newspapers reaching the most BC voters by far - the Postmedia papers - ran a whopping 85% negative opinion columns.

To have the best shot to make your vote count, we must step up our game!

Since we put this call out 3 days ago, thanks to your generous support, we're almost half way to our goal of $10,000 for Facebook advertising!

Can you chip in to help us reach hundreds of thousands of BC voters about pro rep?

In the 2009 referendum, a majority of BC voters told pollsters they supported proportional representation just weeks before the vote - only to be subject to a relentless negative ad campaign by the NO side in the last two weeks.

The latest poll shows support for proportional representation in BC at 57% - but our efforts in these final weeks will make the difference.

This time, we can't let them kill what is probably our last chance for proportional representation in BC in this generation.

Our last chance for fair results, a stronger voice for voters, more cooperation between parties, and genuine majority rule in BC.

The NO pro rep campaigns are run by party strategists, professional lobbyists and big money interests determined to keep the first-past-the-post system that works for them.

A look at the Initial Disclosure report from NO campaign to Elections BC of donors contributing over $250 paints a telling picture of who we're up against.

Almost 2/3 of the NO side donors wrote a single $1200 cheque ($1200 is the maximum). (You can find out who some of their wealthy donors are here).

Fair Vote Canada BC is funded by you - and other BC citizens from every walk of life who want an electoral system that gives us all a stronger voice on the issues that matter the most to our future.

We CAN beat the odds and win this campaign for proportional representation together.

Women did it when they won the right to vote.

Our PEI pro rep team did it when they won the 2016 plebiscite.

Please chip in for a Facebook ad campaign now - and let's make history!

With deep thanks,

Anita Nickerson
