Energy Connections 2018 was a success!

Thanks to our knowledgeable speakers and engaged audience, Energy Connections was a resounding success!

We brought in an array of experts in land use, transportation, housing and other topics. We were pleased by the audience's input and hope to allow for further dialogue in next year's Energy Connections.

Register Now! Cool-It Program

In case you haven’t heard, the Cool It! Climate Leadership Training Program had an amazing 2017/18 school year. Participating students completed a total of 54,324 energy conserving and emissions saving actions at home during the four week challenge, which will result in projected savings of a total of 2,343.012 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2e), if they continue their actions for one year!

We are looking for sponsors and donors to help us provide the training to the next group of young sustainability ambassadors across BC. If your organisation is interested in sponsoring Cool It! Okanagan News

The Okanagan Chapter has been busy motivating the members to actualize sustainable energy in their communities. Its last meeting was an exercise in practising sustainability by performing an energy audit for Allan Brooks Nature Centre in Vernon, BC. Members got familiar with magnetic ballasts, lighting alternatives, thermal loss/gain, as well as the dream of the Nature Centre to bring sustainable energy to their site. It was an active and fun way to gather like minds. Look for more action-oriented meetings coming soon!
