Lets talk about pro rep

NationBuilder r1

Dear Paov --

The referendum on BC’s voting system has formally begun and ballots are landing in mailboxes as we speak.

The BC Health Coalition is supporting a change to proportional representation (pro rep) because we strongly believe that a fairer system of voting will lead to better health policy for all British Columbians – and especially for those living in rural areas.

We want to know if our members are planning to support proportional representation or our current mode of first past the post (FPTP).

Do you still need more information to make up your mind? We’ve compiled some great resources:

The Tyee has put together a handy video and guide to provide more information about the different models. You can also take a look at the CCPA’s guide to pro rep.

Both Fair Vote Canada and Vote PR BC have easy-to-read guides to the different systems.

Thank you,

Edith and Adrienne
