What’s Up in the Woods!

Dear Paov,

There’s a lot going on in BC’s rainforests and in the movement to protect them.

Together with our allies, we’re working hard to build the momentum needed to protect ancient forests and transition to sustainable forestry. We need your help.

In one week, join Wilderness Committee, Ancient Forest Alliance and Sierra Club BC for an update on remaining old-growth rainforests and the efforts to protect them!

Presentations by: Andrea Inness, Ancient Forest Alliance; Mark Worthing, Sierra Club and Torrance Coste, Wilderness Committee. Up and down the coast, the remaining tracts of old-growth are being logged at record-pace – more than thirty-four soccer fields every day, on Vancouver Island alone.

Not only is the BC government continuing to let corporations run roughshod in the woods, but it’s also even in on the destruction of old-growth rainforests itself, from the Nahmint Valley to Schmidt Creek.

Come hear what our organizations are doing to address this crisis and how you can get involved. We want to hear your concerns and share ideas on how we can protect these vital ecosystems before it's too late.

Please join us, and bring a friend! I hope to see you downtown next week.

For the old-growth,
