Send Red Dresses to Unist'ot'en

"CALL FOR SUPPLIES - We are asking for our supporters throughout the continent to send us red dresses! We are hanging red dresses along the road to Coastal GasLink's proposed man camp site to show the devastating effects this camp will have on our community. We need as many dresses as possible.

These empty dresses will symbolize the lives lost of our sisters, mothers, aunties, grandmothers and daughters. If there is an Indigenous woman you would like to honor in this public act of remembrance, we invite you to write their name on the dress before you send it.

The research has shown the correlation between man camps and murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls. We are here to say#NOMANCAMPS AND #NOTRESPASS ON#WETSUWETENSTRONG YINTAH!

Please send dresses to:
Dark House / Unist'ot'en

There are lots of ways we can get dresses up to camp!

Set up a collection spot within your community maybe at a local church or organization.

Go to thrift stores and find dresses.

Share this article from camp on your facebook and other social media and ask your friends for dresses.

Go door to door canvassing in your neighborhood to ask for donations of dresses.

Find a sympathetic group in your community who has a meeting you can attend and make a pitch for dresses at.

If you're doing something that works well let us know and send us a description so we can share it and inspire others!

If you have a collection spot in your community you have set up that you would like us to advertise please let us know so we can promote it!
