SHUT DOWN KKR
KKR, a US-based private equity firm, has plans to purchase 65% of the Coastal GasLink pipeline with Alberta Investment Management Corp (AIMCo). But KKR's plans to invest in the pipeline are not yet final and there is still time for them to walk away from the deal.
Rising Tide North America has organized a Communications Blockade of KKR for today:
⚡ Email KKR today by using our easy messaging tool: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/messagekkr
⚡ Call KKR by dialing 1-888-593-5407 and following the instructions you hear from us. Need some talking points for your call? No problemo. See below.
⚡ Tweet at @KKR_Co and tell them just how awful they are for ignoring Wet’suwet’en concerns about their rights, the climate, land air and water. Need some tweet inspiration? See below!
⚡ UK callers: Call KKR by dialing (+44) 020 7839 9800 then asking the switchboard to patch you through to Johannes Huth, KKR's Managing Director.
⚡ Share this action on Social Media and ask others to join in!
#ShutDownKKR Call Script
“Hello KKR, I am calling to demand you respect Indigenous rights and the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs, and drop the risky Coastal GasLink pipeline from your portfolio immediately. The project disregards the lack of consent from Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs who are the proper title holders to much of the land the pipeline would cross. A mass movement has erupted across Canada to stand with the Wet'suwet'en hereditary chiefs and stop Coastal GasLink and we're not going away anytime soon. This project will not be built. Save your money and back out while you still can."
