RAVEN-Trust

We are thrilled to be inviting you to hear first-hand about the recent - and ongoing - legal challenges of Wet'suwet'en hereditary leaders.

The case, heard in B.C.Supreme Court last week and continuing October 16th, has brought forward the Wet'suwet'en concern that the project's impact on Indigenous Women and Girls has not been properly assessed. The court also heard the full account of Coastal GasLink's numerous and ongoing permit violations.

Join us for a webinar where we'll unpack the evidence and arguments, and hear Wet'suwet'en community members share visions for their unceded territory that honours and sustains salmon habitat, mighty forests, and a safe climate for future generations.

It takes huge courage to stand up to powerful interests and take to the courts to pursue what's right. We can't wait to gather with you and share our appreciation for Wet'suwet'en leaders, by delivering messages of support and over 4,000 pledge signatures live on a webinar TOMORROW.

Join Na'moks, Kalaset and Charlotte Euverman of Wet'suwet'en Nation, who will speak together with RAVEN's Ana Simeon and legal counsel DJ Larkin.

Looking forward to seeing you at 5 pm PDT, Wednesday, October 7th!

It's not fair that First Nations land stewards should have to pay to access the courts, just to hold government accountable to enforce their own regulations and recommendations. That's why we are so grateful to the RAVEN community for stepping up and contributing an astonishing $30k for this campaign.

If you have already given - THANK YOU!! Didn’t have a chance to donate? Give now: click here to contribute to the legal defence fund.

While we can't gather in person, what a joy to see and hear from tireless leaders of Wet'suwet'en Nation, whose stories of resistance and resilience are being woven together with your generosity and spirit.

In solidarity,

Andrea
& the RAVEN team

P.S. Even if you can't attend live, Sign up here to receive a link to the recording of Wednesday's call.
