Stepping Forward on Divestment & Building Our Creative Capacity

This has been a huge we for divestment organizers on campuses in BC with the University of Victoria, UBC and ArtShiftSchedule.jpgSimon Fraser all taking huge steps towards divestment this week. Find out more!

As divestment is gearing up, we're also launching a new project called ArtShift. ArtShift is based on a belief that everyone has the capacity for creativity and that when ignited, that creativity is a force that can move the world and make change irresistible. On March 1st, we're bringing this mission to Vancouver in a full day creative action training lab. Join in!

With workshops on graffiti and street art, the role of art, humour and creativity in mobilizations, story-telling andframing and much more along with skills trainings in a range of tools from silk-screening to building giant inflatable action "toys", ArtShift will build the creative action capacity of organizing for climate and social... justice. You can see the full program here.

ArtShift is an entirely by-donation project as a part of an escalating plan for 2014 to hold (at least) two regional PowerShifts in Ontario and the Maritimes along with capacity building and training projects like ArtShift. To make this happen, we need some love from folks like you. We're running a crowd-funding campaign for PowerShift in 2014, and if you donate $50 before it ends on February 14th, we'll send you a special Climate Justice Valentine.

See you at ArtShift and as we build a bolder, more creative movement.

Thank you,

Cameron Fenton, on behalf of the ArtShift BC team
