RCMP ready to remove tree-sitter

Hi Paov,

Yesterday, I went to visit the Brunette River Conservation Area where Trans Mountain plans to build its pipeline across two vital creeks for fish. One local activist has been living in a tree to protect the area for two months — but he’s expecting the police to remove him today.

Workers and security were all over the forest and told me they would start cutting trees as soon as possible. Cutting these trees will fill the salmon habitat below with debris that could smother any eggs.

Despite opposition from the local community, the City of Burnaby and Indigenous Nations, this company plans to clear 1308 trees from the Brunette River watershed. We need to show them and the Canadian public who own this project that we won’t stand for it.
