More action needed now if government intends to keep its promises
Hi Paov,
Last fall, I was encouraged when Premier John Horgan and the BC NDP government committed to a ‘paradigm shift’ in forest management promising to protect endangered old-growth.
Six months later Wilderness Committee, along with our allies, assessed the BC government’s progress. Frankly, Horgan is failing. We graded his government in five subjects. Here’s his report card.
Despite these abysmal grades, we believe in Mr Horgan’s ability to do better if he’d only apply himself. That’s where you come in. Notify the rest of Horgan’s supervisors (the public) — share this report card far and wide!

Then motivate the provincial government using our online action series. If you’ve used these tools do so again — your government needs consistent encouragement to grow into its potential! I especially recommend requesting a meeting with your MLA, which will apply peer pressure to the cabinet and premier’s office.Your activism has shone a spotlight on the crisis in old-growth forests. Let’s make sure the BC government gets the attention it needs to reach our expectations: end ecosystem destruction and shift to a forestry model that centres on biodiversity, First Nations and sustainable communities.
