One week to go: Last chance to protect Fish Lake!
Hi PAOV,
Right now, we have just one week left to speak up to protect Fish Lake from Taseko Mines’ New Prosperity Mine project!
The environmental assessment panel has concluded that the serious environmental and social impacts of this project are simply too great. The Tsilhqot’in National Government – representing the First Nations communities whose territories are at risk – has voiced its opposition to this risky mine proposal over and over again.
Now, it’s time for federal Environment Minister Leona Aglukkaq to hand down her final decision, and it could be announced any day now.
The fate of this mine project rests in the Minister’s hands – and that’s why we need you to write to her one last time to demand an end to the New Prosperity Mine proposal, once and for all!
Please use our letter-writing tool to send one final message, urging Minister Aglukkaq to consider the facts and perspectives put forward by the environmental assessment panel, by the Tsilhqot’in people, and by Canadians far and wide who have spoken out against this mine project. This time, Canada must say NO to Taseko’s mining plans.
You can also help by sharing this action tool with your friends, family and neighbours – now is the time to take action, before it’s too late!
For the wild,
Joe Foy | National Campaign Director
