Chances are, you’ve heard all about the BC government’s big dreams for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Unfortunately, provincial policy-makers tend to leave out the facts about the enormous environmental consequences.
Most of the gas that would feed BC’s fledgling LNG industry would come from fracking, and it’s anything but natural.
That’s why we believe it’s important to get out to communities to generate conversations about whether or not this environmentally destructive and carbon-intensive industry is in our best interests.
We’ve lined up a town hall tour designed to get communities talking about LFG – liquefied fracked gas. Co-hosted by Wilderness Committee and Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition, this tour will be a great opportunity for people to learn and share their perspectives on the need to stop fracking and take action on climate change.
Come out and join us for the town hall stop of Vancouver Island!
Speakers include Dana Hibbard of the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition, my colleague Eoin Madden from the Wilderness Committee, and Bob Peart of Sierra Club BC. After the presentations, there will be a Q&A session for you to ask questions and raise your concerns about BC’s rush to frack for gas.
We would love for you to join us! Please help us spread the word about these town hall meetings by telling your friends or sharing the event via email, Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you – I hope to see you on the tour!
