We have One Earth. You have One Vote.

r1 Needed: Leaders who will do what it takes ... r19 Dear Paov,

With less than two weeks to go before Canada’s snap federal election, politicians are in full campaign mode – reaching out to voters, making big promises and vying for your support.

Meanwhile, many of us are still reeling from a difficult summer marked by a deadly heat wave, devastating wildfires and other growing climate impacts – which continue to disproportionately impact Indigenous peoples, people of colour and low-income communities. Canadians are crying out for bold leadership to fix systemic injustices and confront the overlapping crises affecting the environment, human rights and our health.

It’s never been more important for us to take the necessary steps to turn things around. We can start by voting for a government that will take climate change seriously and act now to build a healthier, more just future.
If you haven’t yet, make sure you’re registered to vote by the deadline on Tues. Sept. 14. Find more information about key dates, polling stations, advance polls and ways to vote on the Elections Canada website. This fall, we’re joining other organizations and community groups across the country to voice our demands to federal political parties and candidates. Any government elected to represent us must commit to respect and uphold Indigenous rights, and ensure that nature and climate action are a priority.

Will you join us by sending a letter to your local candidates and major party leaders?

Let them know that your vote depends on meaningful commitments and concrete plans to get Canada on the right path – from reducing carbon emissions and protecting land and water, to honouring Indigenous rights, and supporting workers in a just transition to a clean economy.
Take action now This is our chance to leverage our votes and demand elected leaders who are willing to do what it takes for a healthier future, for people and the planet. Make sure candidates know how important these issues are for Canadian voters by taking action today.

Thank you,
