About this year's keynote

Just last week, we observed the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (also known as Orange Shirt Day) to commemorate and honour Indigenous Survivors of residential schools, their families, and the Missing Children that never returned home from residential schools. The legacy of colonialism run beyond residential schools. We also see it in the form of anti-Indigenous racism in our health care system.

This year we are honoured to welcome Dawn Thomas as a guest speaker. Dawn is Associate Deputy Minister of Indigenous Health and Reconciliation. You can read more about Dawn HERE. She will speaking about the "In Plain Sight" report released last year which showed how anti-Indigenous racism exists within the health care system. ADM Thomas will be sharing progress updates on the recommendations in the report.

We invite you to prepare for this talk by reading the "In Plain Sight" report and joining our discussion group from 11:30am to 1:00pm on November 2.
