The presidents of all Vancouver Island post-secondary institutions signed an agreement last week to create the Vancouver Island Post-Secondary Alliance. As signatories to this alliance, the five institutions will join forces to further the social and economic prosperity of Vancouver Island and the province of BC through a commitment to collaboration and cooperation. EVENTS
EARLY EARTH DAY AND RECYCLING WEEK
March 10-13, Fraser Building Lounge
Do you have an accumulating supply of not-easily-recyclable goods that are taking up room and yet pain you to throw away? The UVic Environmental Law Club will take them off your hands for proper recycling from March 10 - 13, so don't throw them out! Bring the following items to the tables outside the lounge in the Fraser Building; we'll focus on different items on each of the following days, but feel free to bring any items on any of the days:
· Mon 10th: electronics (including batteries and ink cartridges)
· Tues 11th: running shoes, bras (the ones that the Goodwill won't take, i.e. on their last legs)
· Wed 12th: Styrofoam
· Thurs 13th: books/magazines (these will be sold in a used book sale, as a fundraiser for the ELC)
