Is this the worst review process yet?
Hi Paov,
We’ve seen industry and government pull some shady tactics in environmental assessments but this one takes the cake.
At the very end of a seven-year review, FortisBC asked the government for 2.5 times the amount of tankers and barges to load at its Tilbury LNG facility on the Fraser River. Can you tell them to take a hike?

Both of these men have run environmental organizations — they must understand it’s unacceptable to ignore the full climate impacts of any project. And they know salmon and killer whales might not survive another major industrial project like Tilbury LNG. But they need to hear that thousands of Canadians like you are paying attention and won’t let this stand.
Tilbury LNG would have a carbon footprint the size of the entire city of Vancouver. But the BCEAO’s report ignores the vast majority of pollution associated with the project — the methane gas leaks from fracking for its gas in northeastern BC. Take action! Write your letter by August 15 to tell the provincial and federal governments to honour their climate commitments and reject the Tilbury Marine Jetty.
Now is our chance to stop FortisBC’s polluting plan for Tilbury LNG in its tracks.
For the climate,

Peter McCartney
